In the summer of 2023, CSLS awarded three Frances S. Coles summer research grants of approximately $7,000 each. These research grants are designed to assist mid-career graduate students (prior to advancing to candidacy) who are pursuing independent research related to law and society. These awards allow recipients to spend the summer free from other work obligations, enabling them to focus on producing a substantive research product, such as an article to submit for publication.
2023 CSLS summer grant awardees are: Alinaya Fabros, a PhD student in Sociology; Bonnie Cherry,a PhD student in Jurisprudence and Social Policy; and Sarah Lee, a PhD student in History
