In the summer of 2022, CSLS awarded three inaugural Frances S. Coles summer research grants of $7,000 dollars each. These research grants are designed to assist mid-career graduate students (prior to advancing to candidacy) who are pursuing independent research related to law and society. These awards allow recipients to spend the summer free from other work obligations, enabling them to focus on producing a substantive research product, such as an article to submit for publication.
2022 CSLS summer grant awardees are: Griffin Brunk, a PhD student in Jurisprudence and Social Policy; Cathy Hu,a PhD student in Sociology; and Eduardo Bautista Duran, a PhD student in Jurisprudence and Social Policy
