Carlo is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology of Law at Lund University, in Sweden. His research focuses on legal mobilization, legal consciousness, and environmental justice. In particular, in his PhD project he explores how law has shaped a fight for environmental justice carried out against the largest steel factory in Europe based in the city of Taranto, Italy. At Lund University he is involved in teaching in courses on socio-legal theory and methods. Prior to joining Lund University as a PhD Candidate, Carlo obtained a law degree from the University of Bologna, worked in the legal profession, and then moved on to obtain an LL.M. from Cornell Law School and a Master of Science in the Sociology of Law from Lund University.
