Bio/CV:
AJ Kurdi is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Ethnic Studies, with a Designated Emphasis in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. His dissertation researches the self-organization of queer Arab and Romani people in various social contexts spanning Europe and North America, and how these different forms of ethnic minority queer organizing shape the priorities and political orientations of mainstream LGBT movements and public policies. His published work focuses queer social movement debates and transnational networks in WANA and the various forms of discrimination queer Romani people face in CEE.
